CCS researchers identify critical role of CD44v6 in the progression of chronic lymphocytic leukemia

In a collaborative effort involving several CCS member labs, Julia Gutjahr and colleagues from the Hartmann lab identified a critical role of the CD44 adhesion molecule in the homing of leukemic cells and the promotion of chronic lymphocytic leukemia. The study opens new opportunities for CLL therapy based on anti-CD44 treatment strategies. For details see the original publication in the journal Blood.
