CCS researchers identify new drug targets in pancreatic cancer stem cells

In a collaborative effort, CCS researchers of the Huber and Aberger groups applied unbiased proteomics to identify proteins that account for the malignant properties of highly aggressive pancreatic cancer stem cells (CSC). The study revealed a total of about 200 candidate proteins controlling CSC biology. This work provides a valuable resource for putative drug targets urgently required for the development of improved therapies of pancreatic cancer, one of the most lethal malignancies.
